Welcome home. Saybrook College is not simply a place where you will sleep, eat, and study — from this moment on it is your community, and it will shape you in ways you cannot yet anticipate. You join a long line of students who have passed through our two courtyards, gathered for meals in our dining hall, relaxed in our common areas, and found in one another the friendships and intellectual companions that last a lifetime.
Yale’s residential colleges are where your scholarly and personal pursuits will meet the texture of everyday living — where a conversation that begins over dinner might continue into the early hours, where a new friend might grab you on their way to an intramural match or the meeting of a student group. We encourage you to lean into those moments, to resist the comfortable and the familiar, and to bring your full self to everything this community has to offer.
Saybrugians are bold thinkers, generous friends, and principled leaders. We are the defending champions of the Tyng cup! And from our architecture to our community, we are the best of Yale’s fourteen residential colleges! We are so glad you are here; we cannot wait to see what you will do in these next four years!
