Master’s and Associate Master’s Report

  • Wonderful Oktoberfest, really nice dinner. If you’d be interested in more themed dinners, contact Professor Near!

Committee Reports

SAC (Saybrook Activities Committee)

  • Dean Muller won the Most Spirited during Oktoberfest award for her thematic clothing!
  • Coming up: the weekend after we come back from break is Halloween.
  • Haunted House for Saybrook? (Probably too late to throw something like this together.)

Bylaws Committee

  • Did you know that the deadline for being considered absent at this meeting is the reading of new business?

College Seminar Committee

  • Our chosen college seminar for next year is called Atheism and Skepticism in the West.

Sustainability

  • Saybrook Waste Audit is scheduled for November 9.
  • Everyone is welcome to attend; it’ll be on a Monday from 4 to 6 p.m.
  • They’ll go through all your trash!

Intramurals

  • We won Men’s Football today. Co-ed football was close, but we lost by one point to TD.

Saybrook Brew Club

  • Ordered our supplied for our first batch.
  • Will be making a vanilla winter porter.
    • Aiming to do this around Halloweekend.
    • Go-time now: we have everything set up, and we can hit the ground running after break.
    • Contact Aadi if you’re interested in participating (he’ll send a campus-wide e-mail out).

Saybrook Historical Society Committee

  • Couldn’t meet last week because Daniel is ill; will be postponed until after break.
  • Fact for this week: did you know that one of Saybrook’s most famous alumni is A. Bartlett Giamatti, president of Yale and Commissioner of Major League Baseball.
  • And we also found out that Basil Duke Henning has a distant relation to the Kentucky Confederacy.

Yale College Council

  • Events: dates for Fall Show and Last Comic Standing can be found on your e-mail!
  • We also received a survey about possible Spring Fling dates in our e-mails. Respond!
    • Keep in mind that it might conflict with Passover.
  • YCC working on making all college dining halls available for late night work.
  • Reps also work on improving the student experience of low income students.
    • Some ideas: peer liaison program, more discussion during Camp Yale or in froco groups.
  • Look out for an important e-mail coming your way!

Treasurer’s Report

  • Rolling fund remains at $570
